More than 200 people turned up for the book exchange at the Wyspiański Pavillion on 29th April. Even though the rain forced the event to be held indoors, no one complained. This edition brought many true pearls coveted by participants ever since the launch of the campaign, including A Game of Thrones and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, as well as numerous foreign language books, which seem to attract more and more aficionados with each new edition of the campaign.

Before the book swap started, however, Ewa Bolińska from Fundacja Znaczy Się announced the launch of the new edition of the Strefa Wolnego Czytania (Free Reading Zone) campaign. – This time, our goal is to find and show places that teem with books and reading not just in Krakow but in the entire Malopolska Region. The youngest participants of the book swap were in for a nice surprise. Writer Renata Klamerus read out excerpts from her latest children book Tami z krainy pięknych koni (Tami from the Land of Beautiful Horses). Those who listened with particular attention could then win prizes in a special contest.

After The Second Life of a Book ended, Trzy poetki z charakterem (Three poets with character) convened in the conference room: Elżbieta Zechenter-Spławińska, Katarzyna Turaj-Kalińska, and Beata Szymańska. The meeting was hosted by Wojciech Ligęza and Stanisław Stabro.
