More than 150 people swapped books yesterday under the action The Second Life of a Book campaign. Stanisław Lem was the central figure of the day. Together with Wydawnictwo Literackie and the Znaczy się Foundation, we celebrated, the 61st anniversary of the publication of the novel Astronauci (The Astronauts, published on the 23rd of November 1951) with a little two-day delay. While adults were browsing through books, children could participate in workshops led by an illustrator, Ola Cieślak, and build a rocket using cosmic Hocks blocks. Each participant of the book swap campaign could also take part in a competition and win one of 30 books by Stanisław Lem.
NOTICE: Book prizes for the competition were sponsored by Wydawnictwo Literackie and the www.lem.pl internet portal. We would like to remind you that Wydawnictwo Literackie has of Stanisław Lem’s most popular books on their offer and was the first Polish publishing house to release a thirty-volume edition of the writer’s works.
