Next Sunday, this Spring’s first book swap will take place as part of the Second Life of a Book campaign. The event starts traditionally at 3 p.m. We hope that Spring weather will accompany us and we will be able meet in front of the Wyspiański Pavilion (pl. Wszystkich Świętych 2), on the side close to City Hall. The first ten people to bring ten books for the swap will receive a gift: one of ten books, to be picked. Things could not be any different – almost the eve of the World Book Day which is the 23rd of April.

It’s good to come on time: the first person picks from all ten books, every next person – from the books that are left. And it is really worth it: you can get Drewniany różaniec by Natalia Rolleczek (Korporacja Ha!art), Cooking with Fernet Branca by J. Hamilton-Paterson (Bona), Tiger’s Curse by Colleen Houck (Otwarte), The Mask by Stanisław Lem (Agora), Nie uderzy żaden piorun by Dominika Ożarowska (Korporacja Ha!art), Odkrywanie świata – Polacy na sześciu kontynentach by Ryszard Badowski (Pascal), Heart of the Matter by Emily Griffin (Otwarte), Abigail by Magda Szabó (Bona), Zakręt Hipokampa by Maciek Miller (Korporacja Ha!art) and Life & Times of Michael K by J. M. Coetzee (Znak).

Also, a bookcrossing shelf will be installed at the Wyspiański Pavilion on Tuesday. You can bring a book for the swap and leave it there at any time of the day (between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.) and take one of the books left by someone else. Each of the books left on the shelf will be labelled with a sticker containing a six-digit code allowing the reader to learn where the book was before it reached his or her hands. Look for a shelf in a characteristically mint green colour you know so well from the logo of The Second Life of a Book campaign.

PLEASE NOTE: Traditionally, participants of the book swap get a 25% discount on the selected books at the likeKonik café at the Wyspiański Pavilion. Before purchasing, show your sticker confirming your participation in the book swap.
